The age old debate .. what came first, the chicken or the egg … and why do you think that?

My take on it is this … read part of Genesis 1

²⁰ Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.” ²¹ So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. ²² Then God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.”
²³ And evening passed and morning came, marking the fifth day.

²⁴ Then God said, “Let the earth produce every sort of animal, each producing offspring of the same kind—livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals.” And that is what happened. ²⁵ God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to produce offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.

Now I am not sure where a chicken fits because it is a bird but it doesn’t fly much … but either way the bible says that God created creatures/animals/birds/fish it doesn’t say it created eggs. This makes sense because if God had just created an egg, or IF you need to take God out of the equation an egg appeared on earth another way it would need to be cared for and if it hadn’t been it wouldn’t have survived! So .. my conclusion and opinion is that Chickens came first (and that God created them!).
