Inside Film – Reviews

by Grae

Film Addict? Just want an honest opinion about the latest films out in the UK. Check out Inside Film at www.insidefilm.co.uk.

The latest two reviews by Michael Barrett at the time of writing are The Time Travellers Wife – possibly the shortest review I have ever seen Michael write, and The Ugly Truth which I thought was a bit of a harsh review … but leave a comment and let Mikey know what you think!

Formula 1 is back!

by Grae

After the summer break Formula 1 is back and compared to last year Valencia was a far more entertaining race this year!

This was the race Michael Schumaccer possibly would race in but was prevented due to a neck injury, now that would have been great to see! The 7 time world champion racing with the likes of Lewis Hamilton.

So the race … Lewis led from te start with Heikki running in second until the first round of pit stops where Reubens Barrichello got ahead and was around 3.5-4 seconds off Lewis when Lewis pitted the second and final time…it should have been a easy pit but somehow the team were there ready but the tyres were still in the garage! Kinda a big mistake in my opinion!!!!!

Martin Witmarsh after the race said they were off the pace and that is why they didn’t win, but if Hamilton’s pit had gone more smoothly I can’t see why he wouldn’t have won it!

Guess we all make mistakes but I think that someone at Mclaren needs a reminder of how important tyres are to a racing car ;)

Bring on next week … Belgium I think!

Wastewatchers Holiday Club with Splash!

by Grae

Last week I helped at the local kids holiday club run by Splash (for Schools and Communities) and it was bDustbin Destructorsrilliant! I haven’t helped for about 4 years and it was good to be back.

Hard work and all that but very rewarding. It was fantastic to see how hungry kids are to know about God! I was leading the oldest group with someone called Rachel and in our group times we had some really deep discussions with questions that I would struggle to answer an adult on, let alone 11 year olds!

Our discussions about the bible story for that morning sparked talk on all different aspects of the Bible, Christianity and my faith as a whole, it was really challenging but awesome to have the opportunity to think about and have a go at answering the questions! I can’t say I got the answer across perfectly every time but hopefully I gave them something to think about!

Some examples of questions we got asked

  • What is hell like?  (direct and to the point don’t you think!)
  • Will my family go to heaven if I am a Christian and they aren’t?

Bring on next year!
