It has taken a few years but finally someone has found a use for a blackberry storm when combined with bluetooth and a Mclaren Formula 1 car and some craziness! ;-)
Singapore Formula 1 – P3
So the last practice session for Singapore, news that Mclaren rebuilt Hamilton’s car onto a brand new chassis over night and got 3 hours sleep while also working majorly on Kovi’s car too is interesting but Ham has been very quick so far in session. As I write he is fastest on the track with about 10mins left.
No crashes so I guess the dust that apparently is such a problem is reducing as more cars go out on track although Kimi wasn’t far of going into the barrier where Romaen Grosjean crashed yesterday.
The circuit does look incredible at night with the bright lights illuminating the track!
The end of this session we are really seeing the traffic problems that they are likely to have during Qualifying…could produce some interesting results for the grid position.
It is very strange to be watching this on TV rather than being there like last year…atmosphere isn’t as good at home but I do seem to know more of what is going on thanks to the telly! :)
Jenson Button seems to be struggling with the pressure…grumbling yet again about the car … it is like last season all over again :) hehe…sorry I am not a Button fan!
So end of P3 then the fastest 5 drivers were:
- Lewis Hamilton (M)
- Vettel (RB)
- Rosberg (W)
- Kovalainen (M)
- Kubicia (B)
That puts Vettel in all three practice sessions in the top 5!
Singapore Formula 1 – P2
So dealing with Dell orders has got in the way of me enjoying P2 as much as I would have liked…but there we go! I uess it is a work day after all.
Webbers Crash looked rather impressive even though I was watching it on silent!
So the top 5 in Second Free Practice
- Vettel
- Alonso
- Kovalainen
- Heidfeld
- Button
Not that these sessions are necessarily a good indicator over all as we don’t know the fuel loads they are running or if they are running tests on upgrade packages! Bring on P3 and Qualifying tomorrow :)
Singapore Formula 1 – P1
If you know me you will know how much of a fan I am of both Formula 1 and the amazing country of Singapore!
So, me being me am going to cover the F1 on here..just because I can :)
So First practice session is going well, ironically the only crash (so far) was the Renault number 2 car (driven by Grosjean) crashed on the same corner into the same wall that Piquet crashed into last year that has been part of the recent controversy!
Other than that it is a fairly normal first session, people getting used to the track again or for the first time and there are some changes to get used to as well.
Brawn and Mclaren setting the times mainly with Red Bull not far behind.
I almost feel homesick watching the Singapore race, recognising so many places I know or have been!
Check out the main SingaporeF1 site for full details!
Coming back soon with Practice 2 News and Woffle :)
Top 5 in P1-
- Barrichello
- Button
- Webber
- Alonso
- Vettel
Formula 1 is back!
After the summer break Formula 1 is back and compared to last year Valencia was a far more entertaining race this year!
This was the race Michael Schumaccer possibly would race in but was prevented due to a neck injury, now that would have been great to see! The 7 time world champion racing with the likes of Lewis Hamilton.
So the race … Lewis led from te start with Heikki running in second until the first round of pit stops where Reubens Barrichello got ahead and was around 3.5-4 seconds off Lewis when Lewis pitted the second and final time…it should have been a easy pit but somehow the team were there ready but the tyres were still in the garage! Kinda a big mistake in my opinion!!!!!
Martin Witmarsh after the race said they were off the pace and that is why they didn’t win, but if Hamilton’s pit had gone more smoothly I can’t see why he wouldn’t have won it!
Guess we all make mistakes but I think that someone at Mclaren needs a reminder of how important tyres are to a racing car ;)
Bring on next week … Belgium I think!
Hungry Formula 1
Nice race … Brilliant start by Hamilton and then he controlled the race! and who can say F1 is boring when we have wheels flying off and near misses in the pit lane :)
It would be a fluke and require Button to keep the slacking form he has had recently but there are enough points for Hamilton to still win the 2009 Formula 1 and retain his title as World Champion. Bring on the second half of the season…4 weeks away :(
