Why the links … ?

by Grae

On the right hand side of the site you will see the ‘sites i like’ box and I thought I would share my connection with the site (if any). So at the time of posting there are 8 links ..

Brandstar UK Limited

This is quite simply my company website, I won’t write any more info here but leave you to take a look.

Dalesdown

Dalesdown is a local Christian conference centre located just off the A24 in a fantastic location with some amazing views.  The centre is used by a wide range of people including schools, local authorities, companies, churches  and more for everything from a residential trip to training days. Hugely popular. My association is that I am on the board of trustees for the company/charity behind the centre, Family Foundations Trust (FFT).

Inside Film

This is a film review website that I set up with a friend called Michael Barrett. He does all the writing as he is much better at that than me, although we don’t always agree on the quality of a film!

Amazon Wishlist

Another one that kind of goes without description … but it is my wish-list of things on the famous Amazon website!

PCToolbox

This is a site where we have produced a number of tutorials and reviews to mainly help customers of Brandstar but is obviously open to everyone and has been a very useful resource of the years.

Splash!

Splash is a children and family charity that started in 2001 going into schools and doing assemblies and since then has grown to kids clubs, RE lessons, holiday clubs and so much more. They are a christian charity that has grown quite incredibly over the years with an amazing team. My link is that I am a trustee…and I help at various clubs from time to time!

Storrington Community

This is a really useful website for those new to the area, I had the privilege of being involved in this project. Take a look.

The Community Church – Storrington

This is the church I am part of. I am part of the leadership team and have a real passion to see young people come to know Jesus and grow as young people. I love being involved in the whole of church life from homegroups, church set-up, speaking on a Sunday sometimes, kids club etc.

Wastewatchers Holiday Club with Splash!

by Grae

Last week I helped at the local kids holiday club run by Splash (for Schools and Communities) and it was bDustbin Destructorsrilliant! I haven’t helped for about 4 years and it was good to be back.

Hard work and all that but very rewarding. It was fantastic to see how hungry kids are to know about God! I was leading the oldest group with someone called Rachel and in our group times we had some really deep discussions with questions that I would struggle to answer an adult on, let alone 11 year olds!

Our discussions about the bible story for that morning sparked talk on all different aspects of the Bible, Christianity and my faith as a whole, it was really challenging but awesome to have the opportunity to think about and have a go at answering the questions! I can’t say I got the answer across perfectly every time but hopefully I gave them something to think about!

Some examples of questions we got asked

  • What is hell like?  (direct and to the point don’t you think!)
  • Will my family go to heaven if I am a Christian and they aren’t?

Bring on next year!
